What Does The Bible Say About Unity?

God's word is crystal clear—unity isn't just a nice idea, it's a command straight from the heart of God! Over and over, the Bible warns that a house divided cannot stand. Mark 3:24-25 says, "And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand." God's desire is for believers to support each other, not tear each other down. We're called to be one body, interconnected through Jesus and the gospel, no matter our backgrounds or differences.

The gospel is the glue that binds us. 1 Corinthians 1:10 urges us, "that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment." The focus isn't on our knowledge, wealth, or spiritual gifts—those things just puff us up and split us apart. The only thing that's perfect is the message of salvation through Jesus. He died to make us perfect in God's eyes, and now we're called to advance His kingdom with one heart, one mind, and one message: the gospel.

So, unity isn't just about getting along. It's about locking arms for the sake of the gospel, putting aside our pride, and remembering that we're all children of God. We're not here to judge or compare, but to pray for each other, lift each other up, and preach the good news together. That's the unity God wants, and that's how it all ties back to the gospel—because only the gospel can truly unite us!
